As you may be aware, on 26th October 2024 the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023 came into effect in the UK. This legislation strengthens existing protections against sexual harassment in the workplace and places an increased responsibility on employers to take more proactive measures to prevent sexual harassment of its workers.
With this in mind, I would like to take this opportunity to set out our standards and expectations in this area.
At the Trevor Iles group of companies we are committed to maintaining a respectful and safe environment for our workforce. We have a zero-tolerance approach to sexual harassment, any other form of harassment or bullying, including that which may come from third parties such as customers and suppliers.
Third-party harassment refers to any unwanted or offensive behaviour directed at our employees by individuals not part of our workforce. This includes any harassment or bullying that may occur during work-related interactions or events.
We want to ensure that every member of our team is treated with dignity and respect. This policy applies to all interactions, whether they occur in-person, during work-related events, or online.
As a valued customer or supplier, we expect your cooperation in fostering a harassment and bullying free environment.
All interactions should be conducted in a professional and respectful manner.
Any behaviour that is perceived as harassment or bullying will not be tolerated. This includes any actions that may cause discomfort or distress to our employees.
If a member of our workforce experiences harassment or bullying from a customer or supplier, we will take the following actions:
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in upholding this policy. Together, we can ensure a positive and respectful working relationship. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this policy please do not hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for your commitment to maintaining a respectful environment.
